"I'm here for a good time, not a long time."- Drake

Ever wondered what it'd be like to just pick a place on the map, buy a plane ticket and head to a new city with your best friend just for fun? Welllll, Friday night my best friend Leslie and I did just that. In a matter of minutes we up and decided we would buy a ticket to spend New Years Eve in Miami because, why not? Before I knew it, we were entering our traveler info, CC numbers, and all of a sudden we were booked- with no plans other than we both knew we had bomb outfits we couldn't wait to wear :) To be honest, I kind of went through a LOT of emotions- excitement, anxiety, fear, confidence, back to fear- and in the end am SO glad we went! In fact, the whole time we couldn't stop laughing at how much fun it was to pack a backpack and hop on a plane to spend one night in a different city. Sounds crazy, but it was honestly crazy cool. I had such an incredible 2016, much unlike everyone else complaining it was their "worst year ever," and just really wanted to end 2016 and start 2017 doing something so fun and definitely different with my best friend by my side. Don't spend your year wishing and waiting for things to fall into place or for the plan to happen on it's own. Or be scared of new places and not having a plan. YOU can make things happen, YOU can choose to go on adventures and make plans or just roll with it and be spontaneous and live a big, incredibly fun life. Don't be afraid or let anyone else scare you out of taking leaps of faith. A good motto Leslie and I always stand by is "good things happen to those that book flights." :)

Curious about how the night unfolded after making such a rash choice to just up and leave Houston? Well, within hours of clicking "confirm" on our boarding pass to Miami, we were soon headed to the airport with so much energy, lots of laughter, basically no plan and each had only one backpack filled with our makeup, a toothbrush, heels and NYE dress. The flight couldn't have been better and we met the most badass flight attendants and sat next to such a fun couple from Miami and soon had so many new friends before we even got there! We hustled off the plane straight to our glamorous changing room (aka the bathroom of MIA Airport, super classy) to get all dolled up for the night. In the end we both left our cute little pink bathroom feeling pretty proud of the progress we'd made in a matter of minutes and were ready to make our way to South Beach Miami! We loved jamming to Cuban music in the Uber on the way to get us feeling the Miami vibe before arriving at our first stop, the Sugar Factory on Ocean Ave.

The rest of the night we explored all around South Beach and had a blast at Rockwell, where we rang in the New Year, and then later at LIV, where Justin Bieber was performing ,and then to Story Nightclub before walking out to see the beach and walk down Ocean Ave. taking in all of the fun, music, people and beautiful palm trees!

By the early hours of the AM, we sadly headed back to the airport to pick up our stuff at baggage storage where we left our backpacks and we were off to Houston. (Afterrrrrr we missed our flight...whoops.) It was a minor yet slightly annoying travel snag haha but two hours later we were boarding the next flight out (on time this time) and were back in Houston this AM to celebrate New Years Day with family and watching football.

Can't imagine having a better best friend to be by my side through everything and had the best NYE ever! Wishing you all an amazing, and hopefully adventure filled, 2017!
